Cover Letter Writing Workshop, September 17

Flora Community Room, Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 10:30 a.m.

A cover letter can make the difference between getting an interview and being ignored.

Job seekers in the Estacada area can learn how to craft a letter that will land interviews in this upcoming workshop on how to write cover letters. The workshop is being presented by Susan Rich, creator of the Write It Rich series for job seekers, and the author of How to Write a Kick-Butt Resume Cover Letter.

Rich, a Portland-area copywriter and editor with more than 20 years of experience in print, PR, and marketing, has more than 2,000 articles in print about job searching. Her workshop will teach strategies on crafting cover letters that draw attention to your skills and experience, and that show a prospective employer why you are the right person for the job.  A cover letter is so important that unless it is written properly–unless it sells the hiring manager on the benefits of choosing you–it will be ignored. Your hard work, qualifications, talents, and unique skills will land in the trash.

Rich will provide handouts, and the workshop lasts approximately 90 minutes.   THIS PROGRAM IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
