Teen Council is Forming
By Librarian Annie Sprague
Want to make some new friends and get involved with your library? Join the Library’s new Teen Council.
The library is looking for teens ages 13-17 who want to:
–Talk about books, graphic novels, movies, and music
–Learn how council meetings work
–Volunteer in the library
–Make the library a better place for everyone and help us provide better teen services
The Council will meet after school, once a month for about an hour. At meetings you can expect to enjoy tasty snacks while you talk about what books you are reading, what movies you are watching, and what music you like to hear. You can also expect to contribute ideas about what you think would improve the library.
The Teen Council will be run, with the supervision of the librarian, by student-elected officers who will serve as Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer. This is an excellent volunteer opportunity and can possibly count towards your volunteer service requirements for graduation.
Getting involved is fun! Come to our first Teen Council Meeting on April 2 at 3 p.m. where we will chow on pizza, talk about your ideas for the council, and elect the first round of student officers. We hope to see you then!
